Pieter Pourbus Restaurant, Outstanding.
We found the restaurant while walking between our hotel and the Ezelpoort Gate. We stopped in to make a reservation in person, of which we are glad, as seating will always be in demand here, and seldom possible without a reservation. Don't miss this elegant, inventive Flemish cuisine, in a gorgeous, intimate setting
Probably the high point of a trip filled with great dining in both Amsterdam and Bruges. The charm and distinctiveness of the place itself, the historic home of the renowned Flemish painter of the same name; the friendly, casual service; and of course a menu that was carefully curated, smallish, but altogether memorable. We started with a sensational beef carpaccio appetizer, and both of us ordered the lobster and seafood stew. If you're a shellfish person, order it! Do not hesitate! We were surprised to discover that lobster is local. A spectacular, luscious, meal that transported us...we felt that we really experienced Flemish fine dining. Reservation is necessary. Base a night around dining at Pieter Pourbus
We stumbled across Pieter Pourbus on our first night in Bruges, and in writing this review several days later as we depart this beautiful town, it remains the best meal we had during our stay. My husband and I loved the classy decor, and the service was extremely friendly/helpful even though we both only speak English. The food was very high quality - both the steak and the fish main meals were exceptional and have us both looking fondly back on our experience. The beer and wine list was also generous meaning that everyone can find something to their liking on the menu. A great choice for a leisurely, excellent dinner

Délicieux repas

Mooi begin... Raar einde
De ontvangst was hartelijk en het eten overheerlijk. Het leek wel de perfecte match alleen werd het naar het einde toe duidelijk dat ze eigenlijk zo snel mogelijk naar huis toe wilden dus werd de koffie en dessert nogal overhaast.
